Mindfulness for Children

Mindfulness for Children

Yes, yes, yesyesyes!!!!!

80% of the referrals the Soor Center receives from schools are for “attention/focus issues.” Kuwait falls into the global norm meaning (5-7%) of those children actually meet the criteria (and there ARE criteria!) for a diagnosis of some form of AD/HD. The rest? Sleep deprivation, attachment trauma, and emotional hijack are just some of the reasons why focusing is difficult for a child. If teachers/parents were able/permitted to teach and incorporate mindfulness and focus practices into the daily class routine, not only is it likely the children would be more successful ~ emotional IQ would rise as well.
